It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Allen Angevine on October 23, 2023, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born on May 28, 1943, in Monroe, New York, Peter led a remarkable life filled with achievements, dedication, and love.
Peter graduated with pride from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a member of the Class of 1964. He established himself as a distinguished chemical engineer, holding numerous patents that showcased his innovative spirit and commitment to advancing his field. He continued to be called upon for his knowledge and guidance even until his final days.
Peter was predeceased by his wife, Brenda Angevine, and is survived by his daughter, Sharon Angevine Scott, his grandchildren, Melissa Mehlan (Ryan Mehlan), Nicholas Kelly, and great-grandson Ayden Mehlan. He is survived by his siblings, Anne Schwarting and Eric Angevine, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Peter traveled extensively for work and leisure, enriching his life with experiences from around the world. His own family was expanded through his journeys, and he was pivotal in helping his daughter's family emigrate from India.
Peter was a passionate advocate for the homeless community in the Charlotte area. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to help continue his legacy at A Roof Above, or Charlotte Rescue Mission, both of Charlotte NC.
