Phyllis Faber-Crowe Obituary

  Phyllis D. Faber-Crowe

  July 4, 1952-ugust 22, 2021

The whole nation celebrated Phyllis on the day she was born and then every year. We would always tease her about what a “firecracker” she was.

Phyllis was the oldest of 3 daughters that Irwin and Alice had. She graduated from the Whitesboro school system, Whitesboro, NY and then attended MVCC where she met her first husband and father of her only daughter, Kari. Over time she lived in various states until she landed and grew roots in Charlotte, NC.

From here her life story became an amazing one. She became very sick and required an organ transplant. She was on a wait list for a long stressful time until she finally received one at MUSC in Charleston, SC. It wasn’t long before her body rejected the organ putting her back on a wait list. Now time became urgent and shortly she was matched with another donor. She was told there would eventually be complications from medications, but she began to build and enjoy her new life. She became very independent and strong willed. So many facets of herself that had always been weak she worked at to make strong. She took control of her own life like never before.

Phyllis was brave, kind, giving, generous and loved her family. She “gave back” to others again and again. She was a long time reliable, dependable and knowledgeable office manager for The Sharon Lakes Condominium.

In 2012 Phyllis met Tom Crowe through a common interest. At first, they were friends, then dated and in August 2017 she married the true love of her life. Tom and she were a match but this time for life partners. For the first time she had complete happiness in her life.

For all of us “observers” of her life we were blessed to have here for 20+ additional years thanks to that transplant.

Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, Irwin and Alice Dorfman and wonderful brother-in-law David Whorton. She leaves the following with much love in our hearts and great memories: Husband Tom Crowe, daughter Mrs. Cullen (Kari) Case, Sisters Mrs. David (Diane) Whorton and Carole Fedor. Brothers- in-law Wayne Haupt and Gary Fedor. @ Grandsons, Harrison and Xander Case who were the delight of her life. She also leaves Tom’s brothers, Roger Crowe and Fred Crowe and his wife Barbara as well as son-in-law Brian Crowe and wife Angie.

She leaves family in NY state – Uncle Harry and Aunt Betty Turner and Aunt Cindy Turner along with many Cousins.

We would like to acknowledge special friends Grace and Dennis Williams, Art and Friends of Bill W.

Hopefully those that knew her dearly will take a lesson from Phyllis’ life journey, which was SO beautiful at the end. Even then she taught us valuable things and didn’t even know it!
