Richard “Rick” Morrison, age 75, passed away peacefully with his wife Sue by his side in Charlotte, NC on December 22, 2024.
Rick was born on December 6, 1949 in Charlotte, NC to the late Floyd Malcolm Morrison and Louise Beard Morrison. Rick attended Garinger High School and work/retired from Norfolk Southern Railway.
In his younger years Rick loved to race three wheelers and won several trophies during his heyday. He went by the nickname “Ricky Roadracer.” He also had a lifelong love of riding dirt bikes and motorcycles. Rick made many long-lasting friends over the years who shared his love for riding.
Later in life, Rick and Sue spent a lot of their time in Hillsborough, NC tending to and helping maintain Sue’s family farm. It was here he developed a love for tractors and the many things you can do on them. It was his happy place.
Rick and the love of his life Sue, recently celebrated their 30th year of marriage. Rick is survived by his wife Sue, daughter Kelli Moore (partner Steve), step-daughter Heather Nasta (husband Anthony), grandsons Gabe Moore and Toby Moore (wife Lauren), sister-in-law Rita Morrison, brother-in-law James Woods, sister-in-law Becky Woods and many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Nancy Rumph, and brother Jim Morrison.
Family and friends will hold a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his honor to Commonwealth United Methodist Church of Charlotte, NC.
