Therese Regeis McCormick (née Songster), beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was born in Darby, PA on December 2, 1924, and passed away at home surrounded by family and prayers on December 29, 2020.
Therese attended West Catholic Girls School (Philadelphia) and St. John's University (Queens). She later taught at Immaculate Conception School in the Bronx for six years and then worked for Boeing Vertol in Morton, PA where she met Albert Regeis. They married in 1954 and had five children together. Albert passed away suddenly in 1965.
Therese later married William (Bill) McCormick who also had five children. The blending of the two families started a new chapter in her life after a move to Charlotte, NC in 1968. Through Bill and Therese's love and guidance, the word step was never used with their beautiful, large and busy family.

She was affectionately known as Mamá to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bill and Therese enjoyed many years of travels around the world, with European travels to Switzerland, Italy and Austria being a few of their favorites.
While in Charlotte, she was known to be the family's best driver's ed instructor who was heavy-footed when it came to the road. Therese was a member of the Charlotte Catholic Women's Group, Mountainbrook Tennis Club and Mountainbrook Investment Club, where she enjoyed serving as President.
She was a devout Catholic, whose greatest gift to her family was her steadfast faith. For over 25 years, she was committed to her weekly Adoration hour on Monday's at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church. She was an active member in her Bible Study classes which we took for over a decade. Therese had also received two papal blessings from Pope Francis.
Therese was an avid reader, most especially enjoying books about Catholic Church history and historical non-fiction, and had completed collections of many of her favorite detective mystery authors. She also kept a daily journal for most of her life highlighting moments in shorthand form.
When Therese was not at home with family and friends, she was sitting on the deck with a good book at the family beach house, Sweet Caroline, in Ocean Isle, NC.
Mamá will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and her legacy will live on with a focus on faith, fun loving memories, countless virtues, and important life lessons.
