Vicenta Garcia-Reyes

Mrs. Vicenta Garcia Reyes, of Charlotte, passed away on December 13. 2020 at the age of 88. Mrs. Garcia was born in Manati, Puerto Rico, November 10, 1932 to the late Vicente Garcia and Ana Reyes. In the late 40’s, she left her hometown village of Manati and moved to New York, NY, for a better life.

Vicenta was preceded by her husband Juan Gonzalez Ocasio, and her brother Richard Garcia Reyes

Vicenta loved life, music and dancing. She loved children having seven of her own and extended her love to grandchildren, great grandchildren and other kids in the community. She touched the hearts of many with her humbleness, kindness and great sense of humor. Her greatest joy was cooking for the whole family and dancing with her beloved husband.

Her legacy will last forever and her children, second and third generations will miss her greatly.

Mass of resurrection will take place on Saturday, December 19th at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 4207 Shamrock Dr, Charlotte, NC 28215.  Visitation and celebration of life will take place on Saturday, December 19th at Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center, 5505 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, from 6:30PM to 8:30PM. Masks and Social Distancing will be enforced at all times.  Interment will take place privately on Monday December 21st.
