Walter Ralph Whitley, II 81 of Kannapolis passed away July 27, 2025 at the Atrium Hospice House. Born October 2, 1943 to the late Walter R Whitley and Evelyn Wentz Whitley
Ralph was a graduate of A. L. Brown High School and furthered his degrees at Brevard College and UNC-Chapel Hill. A love of History, he retired from the History Department of Central Piedmont Community College after 35 years of instructional teaching.
Ralph was a member of Jackson Park United Methodist Church, where he also served as the church historian.
He leaves behind his beloved Morningside Assisted Living Center staff, where he resided for 20 years and made them his family. Also surviving are several cousins.
Visitation will take place in the Mausoleum chapel Wednesday at Carolina Memorial Park beginning at 9:30 with a service beginning at 10:00 AM.
