Wendy Lynne Ruocco, 55, revered as a beacon of light, positivity, and hope, passed away on January 30th, 2025. She is survived by her three sons, Anthony 24, Ronnie 22, and Lendon 17. Born on October 8th, 1969, to Ron and Lynne, Wendy was known for her warmth, acceptance of others, and unwavering optimism. She grew up in Columbia South Carolina, graduated from Irmo High School and attended The University of South Carolina. Wendy was best known for her beautiful voice, performing with the Atlanta Opera Company, and famously sang the National Anthem for the Atlanta Braves on multiple occasions. However her favorite place to sing was at church, and she would have chosen to sing the National Anthem for her sons lacrosse games over the Braves any day of the week.
Wendy was a devout mother, constantly involved in all aspects of her son’s lives. She was a lacrosse and band mom, always volunteering to make sure everyone was taken care of. In her later years, Wendy developed her sales acumen. Working with hotels and restaurants, she focused on catering events and making special memories come to life for others. This led her to focus on health and nutrition. Wendy received a degree in Integrated Nutrition and became a health coach. She loved working with individuals to help them discover their best sense of self.
Wendy ultimately grew her career in real estate sales.
Growing up in the Lutheran Church, Wendy started attending Lutheridge at age 8. She never missed a year, many times volunteering her time to serve others. She participated and enjoyed music, nature and the love of our God. She joined the Lutheridge staff during music week as part of the Liturgical Arts team. Her musical career spanned more than 4 decades. She sang in 4 languages and participated in many musicals. Wendy created several music recitals where she encouraged others to share their gift of music.
