William Kenneth Sidebottom, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on July 25, 2024, just two days before his 87th birthday. William was born in Louisville, KY on July 27, 1937 to Edna and William Sidebottom. Bill, known as Junnie to his friends and family joined the Air Force after completing High School and took his new wife, Henrietta with him to Washington, D.C. Bill and Henrietta met when they were fourteen years old when Bill went to visit his lifelong friend, Lilburn. It was true love at first site. They celebrated sixty-six years of marriage.
After returning home from his military service Bill and Henrietta eventually made their home in Charlotte, NC. They lived in Charlotte for more than fifty years. Bill had a long successful career in retail, making many lifelong friends in the process. Bill never met a stranger. He and his wife Henrietta opened their door to anyone and everyone was always welcomed with love and kindness. If you needed a favor, he was always ready do one for you. All you had to do was ask and he would be on his way to help. Bill also really liked cars and would tell you all about the cars he had growing up and into his adulthood.
He was a devoted husband who took care of his wife during her long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. He was always by her side to support her. Bill was truly loved by many. Family and friends alike praise him often for the great man he was.
Bill will live in our hearts forever. We will cherish the many memories made with him.
