Steve Kuzma

Founder & Co-Owner- Funeral Service Licensee

Steve was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and raised in Huntington.  A graduate of St. Joseph High School ( Class of 73) in Trumbull, CT and the American McAllister Funeral Institute in New York.  Steve had worked for several firms in Shelton, Bridgeport, New Haven and Milford before moving to Charlotte 1988.  Mr. Kuzma had been employed with Hankins & Whittington for 10 years and managed the Williams-Dearborn Funeral Home in Matthews before venturing out in June 1997 to establish Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center.


Robin Whitley Lancaster

Co-Owner & Funeral Director

Robin is a true North Carolinian. Born and raised in Concord, Robin and her family have an extensive background in the cemetery, crematory and burial vault manufacturing.

Jean Cook Johnson

Office Manager - Retired

Jean was born and raised in Charlotte.  She graduated from Garinger High School and had worked in the insurance industry for many years before joining our firm in October of 2000.  She is a member of Morningstar Lutheran Church, an active volunteer at Hospitality House, Samaritan House and Blessed Assurance Day Care.  Ms. Johnson retired in May 2013.

Zachary Boan

Funeral Service Licensee

Zach, a native of the Concord/Kannapolis area, joined our firm in September of 2014.  An early graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School "Class of 2002", Mr. Boan enrolled in Mortuary School at Gupton-Jones in Atlanta, GA.  Following graduation, Zach returned to North Carolina, where he has worked most of his professional career in the Rowan county area.  He has now found a permanent position in the greater Charlotte area.  As a 16 year old, Zach began working at a family owned funeral firm in the Concord area. It was here that he began to feel a calling to the funeral industry.   Zachary has devoted his life and career to  helping others in their  time of need.    Zachary had served as a volunteer firefighter while in his youth.


Malenny Cosme

Secretary, Hispanic Coordinator

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Miss Cosme  was raised in Puerto Rico and had lived in Philadelphia before moving to Charlotte. and  is the mother of 4 beautiful children.

Miss Cosme has worked as a receptionist in  medical profession before joining our family here at Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center.
