Angeline (Hodge) Davis

Angeline Hodge Davis, 81 of Charlotte, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at her home.  Born in Forest City on December 21, 1934, Angie was the last surviving child of nine children born to the late Garber and Flossy (Cannon) Hodge.  Mrs. Davis had been a Charlotte resident for the past 65 yrs and had worked as a waitress over 25 yrs at Jimmy's Restaurant on Montford Drive.  Angie, love her cats.  Whether they be her's or the neighborhood strays.  She was the neighborhood Fashionesta.  One neighbor described Mrs. Davis as the "Neighborhood Gem."    Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband Eugene, who passed in 2012.
Surviving family members are her daughters  June Casey of Charlotte and Debbie Poteat of Hickory; grandchildren Chris and Brian Cooke and one great grandchild Jace Cooke.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 30th at 11:30 AM at Sunset Memory Garden, Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill.  Memorials may be made to the Humane Society, 2700 Toomey Ave, Charlotte, NC., 28203.
