Dear Stephen and Sheila, I am so sorry that I had lost contact with Dr. Mac and was not aware of his death until now. You have my sympathy , though it is sorely belated. He was a wonderful doctor and a gentle man. I worked with him in Monroe from 1984 until he retired. He taught me so much about mental health and was very wise. A story teller, a writer and a musician--a quiet man with so much talent. The world is less without him . I am ashamed of myself for letting so much time pass that I didn't even know of his passing.

Stephen and Sheila - So very sorry to hear about your Dad. He was a delightful and wonderful man and, of course, my Dad's dearest friend since the late 1950's. I shall always remember him fondly and, most especially his playing the organ at my wedding in 1975. My parents' lives were greatly enriched by the warmth and affection given to them by your Mom and Dad. May the many memories of your Dad, and the richness of God's grace sustain you in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

Warmest regards,

Neil Carmichael

We are so sad to hear of Don's passing. He regularly visited us when he returned home to Scotland, usually to visit his mum. As a fellow organist we passed many an hour sharing anecdotes and music together over the years - and the occasional dram. He introduced me to many classic works, often sending me titles from his collection. He was a very fine man, one of the kindest and most personable that I have ever had the pleasure to meet. As a musician he was a fine performer with an encyclopaedic knowledge of his field. Here is one of his favourite songs as I recently performed it, a piece that I was first introduced to by Don. Rest in Peace my dear friend.
