We loved Dustin, he was such a kind soul and giving spirit. He touched so many of us and will never be forgotten. Prayers and thoughts with you all dearest Desmond, Lourdes and Desiree. I had the honor and privilege of knowing Dustin during the more than two years he worked with my son, who has cerebral palsy. Dustin was a kind, gentle soul who reminded us of the goodness that exists in people. He was not only a terrific care provider to my son, he was also a great friend to him and to me. When you have people in your home helping you care for a family member, you get to know them pretty well. I learned how much Dustin loved his family and how proud he was of his sister, in particular. He was looking forward to following in her footsteps by going to medical school and becoming a doctor. I remember telling him that the things he learned working with my son would be helpful to him in medical school. We used to joke about there being a "Grey's Anatomy" moment during his training when only he would know the answer to a question because he dared to take on the challenge of caring for someone who needs total assistance. My son and I will miss Dustin immensely, and I'm grateful for the time he was part of our lives, even though it was far too short. Our deepest condolences to his family.

I am deeply sorry to hear of the loss of Dustin. I have been his supervisor at The Arc of the Triangle for over 2 years. He was a very special guy & was very dedicated. We will certainly miss him. We just knew he had such a bright future ahead of him with H his hopes to go to medical school.
