Jane Livingston (Hilliard) Herring

Jane Livingston (Hilliard) Herring, 93 of Charlotte passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville.  Born in Pittsburg, PA. on February 23, 1923, Jane was the daughter of the late Jonathan Burns Hillard and Margaret Wood (Cruikshank) Hilliard.  Mrs. Herring, a homemaker, was preceded in death by her husband Thomas and daughter Mary Jane Medrow.  Her grandchildren remember her as being "An Awesome Grandmother" whose pork chops and gravy and beef stew were the highlights to a great meal.   Jane was also an avid reader and quilter.

Mrs. Herring is survived by her daughter Margaret McVean  and grandchildren David (Weslie) McVean and Cheryl Anderson McKenna.
