Jerry and I worked together as CMS OBSERVERS. He was astute and fair. We shared many wonderful lunches, dinners, and social gatherings at his home and mine. He was a witty insightful caring conversationalist. A great intellect. I miss him and will forever miss him.

I am sad to hear of Jerry's passing. I knew him as a teenager and young adult but lost touch over the years. We always had fun together playing and singing in a gospel group, going to movies, or giving him rides to and from ASU when his car wasn't working. I can see by the condolences that he remained that great and funny person he was. He will be missed greatly by all. God bless you.

So sorry for your loss. Jerry was a talented musician. He played piano for my aunt and uncle's gospel group. He was considered part of the family. Praying that God will comfort and bless you during your time of sorrow. He will be missed.

Jerry was simply larger than life. To me he brought joy and laughter as a boss and friend. Students, teachers, parents - EVERYONE - respected him and were drawn to his magnanimous personality. He was intelligent, caring, talented, generous and oh so FUNNY. Knowing him was life-changing. I am grateful that our paths crossed and his wit will forever bring a chuckle to my heart.

Joey, you said everything so well. Jerry had immense integrity. He had that jena sais quoi that made educating come so naturally to him that you were too intrigued to really notice he was educating you. Until later, when you realize that he had shared something of value with you that stays with you. I count myself fortunate to have taught under him. We need more human beings like him in the world.

Jerry was a bright light in this world. He always made me laugh. I loved Jerry...his heart, his humor, his stories, his home, and his kindness. He remains one of my all time favorite people. I cried at my desk at work when I heard he passed. So grateful to have known him and sad to be so far away now. So many great memories of a man that made my life better.

I had the pleasure of knowing Jerry for 8 years. Six of those he was my boss. We laughed together, drank together, cried together and built together. He was a true mentor and loving friend. He will ALWAYS have a very special place in my heart. His mark on the world around him is priceless. His mark on my life is unmatched.
