Margaret Colette (Nolan) Hill

Peg Hill passed away peacefully at home on October 9, 2016. Peg was born September 3, 1925 in Cleveland, OH and was one of three daughters to Sadie and James T. Nolan.  In addition to her parents, Peg was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Edwin Hill, and her daughter Nancy (David) Pauley.

 Peg was an avid rose gardener and her pride and joy were her rare blue roses.  She liked to read fiction and was a loyal member of the Rea Road Library Book Club. Peg loved the many beach vacations with her family, especially all the Thanksgiving dinners “with a view”.

Peg graduated from St. Stephen High School and attended Kent State University. She retired from the North Olmsted School Board and later from the Civil Service Commission in North Olmsted, OH. Peg was a President of OAPSE (Ohio Association of Public School Employees) and held the presidency of St. Matthew Ladies Guild and the S.T.A.R. group.  She was also a member of Waxhaw Women’s Club.

Peg is survived by three daughters, Marnie (Tom) Ferrer and Kathleen Hill (Roger Malman) of Charlotte and JoAnne Lake of Seminole, FL. Two grandchildren, Mary Jo Jallos of Indian Rocks Beach, FL and Patrick (Colleen) Ferrer of Chatham, VA and one great grandchild, Easton Mitchell of Indian Rocks Beach, FL.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 24th at 11AM at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte, NC.  The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
