Hotdogs on the radiator, water skiing, surfing, and soccer tournaments. There isn't a person I would have rather experienced so much life with. Matt was a true friend. He was inspirational, hard working, intelligent, and I admired him tremendously. Mark and Becky you raised an excellent son and my deepest condolences go out to your family.

Although I didn't know Matt,I am friends with Laura and I see the love she has for her family. There are no words that ease the pain of such a loss and know that God cries with you and understands this pain, but no tears for Matt, because he is in paradise waiting for a reunion in God's time.

I was deeply saddenened to read the heartbreaking news. I have met Matt when I taught him Criminal Law in the Fall 2012 Semester. Even though it's been 4 years ago I still remember Matt very well because of the terrific impression he made on me, not only as a law student but also as a human being. Matt was a true gentleman with outstanding manners. I remember him always smiling even when he was under immense pain after dislocating his shoulder in an athletic activity. Matt was also a great student, bright and curious. My deep condolences for your terrible loss.

It is with great sadness that I read about Matt's passing. He was a tremendous young man and I enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with him as an eager and teachable law student and future lawyer. Matt was always engaging and a pleasure to be around and the loss of such a good, decent and caring young man has a profound impact on all of us who enjoyed his company. I enjoyed getting to know Matt as an Intern with the J&D Court and then later as a classmate of my daughter at W&L Law School. He was Southern Gentleman, where so few remain.
