Dustin Desmond Coutinho 24 of Charlotte, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016.  Desmond and Lourdes Coutinho were overjoyed when Dustin was born on September 10, 1992, as was his older sister, Desiree.  He always knew how to make them laugh.  Dustin had a thirst for knowledge and a heart for service. He grew up in Charlotte and graduated from Myers Park High School in 2010. Able to solve a Rubik’s cube and rattle off the first 30 digits of pi, he went on to study chemistry, physics and music at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Dustin graduated from UNC in 2014 and wanted to devote his life to cancer research.  He adored every dog he ever met, and music was his first language. He filled his home with songs on his keyboard, ukulele and harmonica, and found joy in sharing music with his loved ones. His favorite food was his mom’s curry with rice. Always close, Dustin and his sister were neighbors, best friends and confidantes.
He is survived by his parents and sister, many aunts and uncles and his loving cousins: Stanzia, Trisha, Savio, Brian, Kim, Jason, Tatiana, Brittany, Jaden and Rachel.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 15th at 10AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 4027 Shamrock Dr, Charlotte with  A Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11AM.  Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park.  Online condolences may be sent to www.carolinafuneral.com.  Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center is entrusted with the arrangements.
