Dear Cookie and family-
I am so sorry to read about Hugh’s passing. Having worked with Hugh for so many years as a teacher and a Union official with Hugh at the helm made me think of so many late days and many, many good laughs. He was truly the best. Stay strong and cherish the memories.

Dear Mrs. Gavin and family, my family and I are very saddened by your loss. My husband, son and I all had Mr. Gavin as a teacher and I later worked with him at the Middle School. He was a very kind man! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Hugh was a good friend who will be missed very much. He had such a sunny outlook on life that rubbed off on all of us fortunate enough to know and love him. We had some interesting conversations on all kinds of subjects and he never failed to laugh at my often-times corny jokes. He will not be forgotten.
